I am prepared to be as surprised as anyone regarding what my next car will be. There is are a few in the wild I really like , but at the same time, I am not feeling the vibe to spend a crapton just to have the next thing. Also, this is my first lease and I am learning that 3 years is earlier than I would prefer to make a change and I don't like a forced deadline. So, the possibilities...
  1. Buy my current car, if BMW offers me a good market adjustment. I love it, and if I could get it in the mid-$40K range.
  2. Buy or lease a 2026/2027 iX M70. I really want an Mxx the next go around. But I don't think I could spend full retail or lease for north of $1,500/month USD.
  3. Check out the iX3. I like the idea of it, but the price and options would have to be right. (I prefer a car smaller than the iX anyway.)
  4. Check out the Gravity. This is iX-priced, but if they discount enough and it is a compelling package, it could get me.
Big picture is that I am leaning toward a purchase of my next thing, unless there are lease incentives that make least cost too attractive to ignore.

iX3 M60 variant (or whatever the most ‘sporty’ version is called), especially with an upgraded interior quality might well be a strong contender to replace my M60 in a couple of years. I am fortunate that I purchased mine as a CPO at a 25% discount from MSRP, so have some flexibility versus coming out of a lease as to when I decide to trade.

I really love Lucid’s but the Gravity might just be too big for me, and the question of how far the nearest service depot is, remains pertinent. The ‘Earth’ is going to make/break Lucid, and I hope its stellar!

Aside from checking out the iX3 I'm also interested in the Gravity if good deals can be had. But for the first point - is this something that a dealer generally may accommodate for? I've only had the inverse, where I buy out my lease because the value is way higher than the residual. Even though I should be way under mileage at the end of my lease, I imagine my iX will be worth less than the low 50s residual. If they allowed me to purchase for closer to actual value, I'd consider that. I suppose it's a fair negotiation as if I wanted to stay with the iX I'd just be negotiating a different used model in the 40s.

An X3 sized ride with an M60 level drivetrain would be at the top of our list!

I spent another hour sitting in the Gravity this past weekend. I am in love with the massage seats - simply fantastic. Not only does the back massage, but the seat bottom too. And it can do deep massage too.

The sanctuary mode adds to the elevated ambience, with breathing exercises coordinated with video.

It was a great spot to wait out the rainstorm outside the NYC Lucid store.
