Thoughts on USB OBD diagnostic cable inpa ediabas dis sss gt1

I've been reading on this a lot because I want to permanently erase the SES light that'll come up after I install my catless headers this weekend. Any of you guys running this? Here is the link to the product:

Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

I have something similar.
It's good for troubleshooting, checking camshaft timing, coding off some bulb-out warnings, etc.
Not sure it's going to do what you're trying to do.

If I were you I'd get an offroad tune. Get a bump in power and no cat codes.

I see. I already had the ESS tuning tune on my e85 after I supercharged it (better throttle response, Eliminates speed limit, higher redline, etc). I just want something that will erase the SES light for good after I install the headers.

Ahh ok. Well the only way you are going to prevent the light coming on is by suspending monitors and I've never heard of someone doing that themselves but it might be possible. You will never pass an emissions test though. All you need is the cat monitor suspended. You can get through emissions with only the cat monitor shut off. I'd try to find a professional tuner and see what they are capable of.

Frank Smith at TTFS can turn the post cat sensors off. Not 100% convinced you will pass emissions though. He turned mine off during our tuning sessions but have yet to go through emissions.
Your "header" thread has a post from Pokeybritches about a cat sim that he is close to installing on his s/c non M. You may want to wait for him to post results on that before moving forward. I know I am

Edit
BTW his tune includes a handheld module to upload/ download tunes as well as read and delete codes. In addition his datalogging software lets you see realtime data.

Finally you will want a tune after the header swap due to the decreased restriction, you will likely have lean AFR's

For the money... Might be worth a shot to see how good it is.

Bought one of these cheap cables for my VW which saved me a few bucks for an airbag light reset, as well as reading some codes. It's less than the cost of one diagnostic from the dealer.
