Keep your hopes up.... I am not!!!

I am in the same boat and just wish they knew the fix and it was just gonna take time.

Today, I was told by my salesperson that the update on my vehicle will be performed “in early January”. Meanwhile it sits at the VDC in Baltimore.

I hope they test it throughly before releasing the update.

Just don’t be like Polestar. Their OTA update deployments and software stability has been a shit show for the past 4 months. It seems like they never done any testing before pushing it to customers vehicles.

I assume I am right there with you. Not much communication from my SA but I have not really pushed him on it. But my ixm60 has been sitting in Baltimore for two weeks or so.

Mine is officially on hold (no official recall) with no ETA.

My SA confirmed that mine is currently going to stay at port and there is no plan to send it back to Germany to get fixed (someone else was apparently told their car was heading back to Germany).

Wonder if this is the same SME updated that is needed for our cars. It covers earlier productions as well.

From another post “New Recall iX”

Edit: my VIN still shows 0 open recall from the system.

And ICE cars still break I might add.

That recall doesn’t even affect the IX (i20) so I wouldn’t expect much info from this group. The one that did affect the IX related to a manufacturing defect on the edrive motor. I4 and IX do share front motor’s so it may be related but since i20 isn’t mentioned in your screenshot I can’t say for sure.

The production date for my iX was 10/21 which just arrived at the dealership yesterday. No open recalls.

My iXM60 was delivered to port in southern California 12/21 and has been stuck at the VDC eversince. Dealer says "it needs a part" and has no ETA.

What was your production date? I think they had some quality part issues with some of the October builds.

Was told today that there was a recall on my 23 iX60M, that the driving unit need to be changed. They have no ETA and told me to continue driving and if there is a problem to just bring it in.

When was yours built? I think there was only a small number of these that have run into this recall, like less than 100 vehicles.

It might have missed you.

There are no open recalls on mine yet either, but it is stuck in port with the same issue.

Stuck at the port leaving Germany or stuck at the port inbound? I’m not sure how long my vehicle was in either one because I purchased mine while it was already at the port of Galveston waiting for transport. I’m sorry you’re having to wait. That must be extremely frustrating.

I’m learning that “Stop sale” and “recall” don’t mean the same things. My M60 is at VDC in Baltimore, with a stop sale due to the electric drive motor issue, and has been there about 2 weeks. Based on what my dealer tells me, it should be having the replacement motor install some time within the next week or two, with a tentative plan of arriving at my dealership in Iowa, at the end of this month.

It’s also worth noting that not all recalls will show up on the BMW recall site, which is predominantly only for safety recalls. It’s interesting that some of these things get fixed before arriving at the dealership. Not sure if mine fell in that category or not since I bought it after it arrived at the destination port.

That's the category mine is in. Mine arrived in the US and is waiting to get the drive unit repaired.

I haven't heard of a good ETA yet beyond that it isn't going back to BMW.

"We will tell you when it arrives at the dealership....."

Thanks!! lolol
