Range, heat pump, reliability, and build quality are important.

Accelerating fast, having big tires/brakes, and luxury items are not important.

A new 2026 will cost ~$90K.

The cheapest used 2025 with 10K miles or less: ~$85K. A lot are between $90-100K.

I drive a reliable Subaru Outback which I bought new and put 150K miles in good condition.

My gut tells me: buy the 2026 because I get more range for the same money.

Note: My husband and I talked about waiting for the 2026 iX3. But we don't like buying 1st generation cars.

Thanks everybody!
If you decide on the new 2026, you might want to lease as others have mentioned. This unlocks the EV tax rebate (for as long as it lasts... act quickly!). You cannot get this rebate on a purchase because of a loophole for leases only on foreign made vehicles. You can always buy out the lease later. Your priorities seem to align better with a lower trim model vs the M60/M70.

Looks like the lease rates stayed the same for remaining 2025 models, but got worse for the 2026 45/60 (and slightly better for the M70) for June.

2026 models now get the $9900 incentive instead of the $7500, but the MF increased quite a bit.
45 - MF now .0022 (was .0015)
60 - MF now .0021 (was .0015)
M70 - MF now .0019 (was .00145)

Residuals change?

Looks like the same 53% on the M70 (10k miles).

Increase in mf and rebate means it’s a wash. MSDs can be used to buy down the mf.

Doesn't appear so, still 51% for 36/10k for the 45/60 and 53% for 36/10k for the M70.

I prepared 3 leasehackr calculators for fully loaded 45/60/M70s that show how close the 60 and M70 are with current rates/incentives.

Calculators for each are included to help customize based on local tax rates and dealer-imposed costs.

I am looking to purchase a iX60, what should I target for a % discount. I remember reading recommendation like Lease and then Buyout lease, what is the expected $ savings using this approach instead of a direct purchase?

2026 xDrive60 or 2025 M60? (I have seen the ~60 variants abbreviated both ways.)

Either way, if you lease you get an additional $9,900 lease incentive you cannot get through a direct purchase. But then after that, the MY and model does affect expectations around target discounts off MSRP.

  1. The best deals I have seen recently on a 2026 are just under 11% discount from MSRP. So you are good.
  2. It is not likely you will get a different discount between purchase, lease, or finance.
  3. If you lease and then buyout the lease, you will get the additional $9,900 lease incentive.

I’d aim for 10% off MSRP from the dealer regardless if you lease or purchase.

Leasing will get an additional $9900 in rebates from BMW in the USA for June.

I thought that at least one of the Lease Brokers here had mentioned a 12% discount from MSRP before any other discounts from BMW?

8% off MSRP + $7500 Finance Credit for using BMWFS, should I take this deal is there more room on a Finance deal? This is definitely not lower than the Lease deals.

What is a $7,500 finance credit? I thought that BMW FS was only offering $9,900 lease credit.

Its available via BMW for BMWFS for Finance Transactions.

The dealers are not budging on 1% markup, any thoughts on should I focus on getting a better discount?

Have you considered using a broker? That was the best move I ever made.

You are right - I see "$7,500 purchase credit off MSRP" on bmwusa.com for all iX models. They must've added it for June as I don't think it was there before but I might be wrong. Do consider using a broker. For example, my east cost broker is offering 13% off MSRP for iX 45 and I am certain it's close to that number for other iX models.

Does the 13% include incentives?

I used a broker for xdrive45 to land at 10%, base MF and $9900 incentive. I’m happy and think it’s fair. Nothing we can do about rubbish MF and RV.

No, these % off MSRP from brokers never included any incentives.

This is the deal I have - Finance - 10% off MSRP + 4.99% APR w/7500 BMW FS Credit, I intend to keep my vehicle for more than 3 years. So I am thinking I will just go with the purchase as the cost of Lease Buyout is much higher than what the current lease is available (10% MSRP + .0025 MF + Lease Fees + Disposition Fees). On a 5 year comparison, Lease should be at least (13% MSRP + .0021 Base MF) for me to consider a lease + buyout.

Well, even at a MF of 0.0025 you are at 6%, so just 1% more than your finance APR. The major question I would be asking is this: what will happen to the iX value in 3-5 years when it has ceased production, and has been replaced in the line-up by the iX5? I think I’d be happier letting BMW assume the risk that the valuation at 3 years hadn’t ’fallen off a cliff’.

But: if you keep a vehicle far longer than 5 years, then the depreciation curve will flatten out nicely for you, and value at 3-5 years is moot.
